Panic! At The Disco — Do It To Death

Do It To Death is the 12th and final song on Panic! At The Disco’s last studio album, “Viva Las Vengeance.”

An accompanying music video was released on September 9th, 2022, which non-coincidentally was the first date for their farewell tour.

The song and video seem to foreshadow the end of Panic! At The Disco. In the video, Urie dies and has a grandiose funeral.

Towards the end of the song, a very musical theatre style callback is made to the title track of the album, “Viva Las Vengeance.”
The callback is a string accompanied, slower rendition of the chorus in Viva. The lyrics “shut up and go to bed” are on the first and last song on the album, which fans have speculated are a euphemism for death. The callback lyrics were the first media to be promoted/teased for the era, on the Shutupandgotobed.com website, which was sent out to fans via a letter and vintage style flip clock reading 6:01. (6:01 also makes an appearance multiple times in the Do It To Death music video.)
The last few seconds of the song transition into the opening track “introduction” on Panic!’s first record, “A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out,” which along with the lyric callback and video easter eggs, further emphasize the albums encompassing themes of repetition, burnout and the death of Panic! At The Disco.
